The New “Must Read” Dirty Laundry Report

Marketing No Comments »

Hey thanks for popping in to check out my blog! Be sure to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

So there’s a brand new report out over at Nitro Marketing about the good, the bad and the smelly when it comes to online marketing programs. But it’s not a mud-slinging kind of thing, I’ve read it and it’s spot on. Not too surprising since they put together some very solid programs at Nitro, but definitely a recommended read.

You may be surprised by a couple of their observations . . . but more importantly, they’re offering some genuine tips and good information about building your business online in the report and in supplementary emails.

Here’s a quote from their email:

[The Report] explains how to avoid the bamboozler,
what to watch out for, what’s really going
on behind the scenes, the typical life of a
product in this market, what to look for in
a true system, and much more helpful
advice from someone who’s seen it all
over the last 10 years online — from the inside:

Click here to check it out and please, let me know what you think if you have a moment.

All the best,

Cedric

Are You Ruining Your Blog Traffic by Ping Spamming?

WordPress Tips No Comments »

I just found out today from this post at quickonlinetips, that if you are using WordPress and letting it ping the default service that’s built-in, rpc.pingomatic.com and then in addition using pingoat.com, you end up double-pinging some of the services because there’s crossover between the two tools. This amounts to ping spamming and you get penalized for that.

The solution?

Use the WordPress Compressed All-Inclusive Ping List

This is a list of the top ping services with no overlap. Just copy and paste the following list into the text area at the bottom of the page located here: Options > Writing Options > Update Services

http://rpc.pingomatic.com
http://www.blogpeople.net/servlet/weblogUpdates
http://bulkfeeds.net/rpc
http://ping.myblog.jp
http://ping.bitacoras.com
http://ping.bloggers.jp/rpc/
http://bblog.com/ping.php

And now every time you post, you will automatically ping all the services you need to with no manual pinging required. (and no problems with accidental ping spamming.)

Happy pinging!

Less than 5 hours left for “The Most Dangerous Marketing Experiment Ever”

Marketing 1 Comment »

The most powerful, ground-breaking business and marketing training program to appear in years has only a few hours left before they take it off the market . . . I would have blogged it earlier, but I myself have been on the fence about it until just moments ago when I went ahead and picked up a copy.

Now that I’ve made the decision, (and feel it was a GREAT one at that–I can’t wait to get it!) I wanted to let you know about it so you can at least have a shot at checking it out if you also want to make incredible progress in your business, whether online, or off. Just watching all the videos explaining his methods has inspired me and changed my thoughts completely about how I do business.

This guy, Eben Pagan, has built his company into a $20 million per year organization in just 5 years using some very original ideas and an amazing understanding of human psychology.

This is definitely NOT like any of the stuff you’ve seen in the last few years. I guarantee it.

But enough of my prattling on . . . check it out for yourself now and best of luck getting a copy as it’s going fast . . .

Click here now to check it out.

Please let me know via comments if you go ahead and sign up. I’d love to compare notes on your progress and overall thoughts about it!

Who Gets Your Attention Today?

Marketing 2 Comments »

Lately I’ve become overwhelmed with the incredible number of marketing tools and program offers flying into my inbox. Some are interesting, although expensive, but others are filled with exclamation marks and feel like deja vu all over again. and again. (props to Yogi Berra). Even after 2 years of intensive studying, and having a pretty good idea who I can trust and who’s actually got some good information I can use, I’m still wondering, when does it end? Will I ever NOT need that incredible new report, or program just released and with only 500 artificially scarce copies for sale? If you’re wondering where this came from . . . I read a post over at Rich Schefren’s blog today and it really struck a chord with me.

Much of the stuff that everyone is selling seems to be pretty much the same thing, but with a shiny new coat of paint and some special time limit to encourage you to “buy now” and not think too much about it. Well, that’s maybe a little more cynical than some of those products deserve. But nevertheless, I still think a lot of the stuff out there is resale rights-based, renamed and regurgitated and that does lead me to my next thought . . .

I’m jaded. Finally. And that’s a GOOD thing and here’s why: I have finally learned to ignore the outrageous claims and constant hullabaloo of the standard offers flying around and have started to turn inward and use the knowledge I’ve gained from my observations. Now I’m creating instead of consuming and if there’s one secret most of the marketing folks would agree with (I bet) it would be this: The day you stop looking for the next amazing “pill” that’s going to make you a million bucks and instead you start writing and posting and experimenting and testing your own ideas, that’s the day you change your life. It’s why I’m sitting here now at 11:27 PM on a Sunday night tapping out this message right now. I want to see what happens next. And with that comes a rush like I’ve never felt simply reading the latest report, or downloading yet another e-book to learn about list-building, ad infinitum, etcetera, blah blah and more . . .

Now, that said, I couldn’t have gotten to this point without trudging through the marketing “mud” for 2 years, trying and testing a LOT of programs. I’m also a major proponent of hearing the same subject taught by many different people because everyone has a different viewpoint and one may not work while another will be just the right perspective for me.

I’ve been studying a lot of stuff and so far the most effective and helpful programs I’ve found are from folks like Joe Vitale, Mark Joyner, Rich Schefren, Dan Kennedy, Jay Abraham, Yanik Silver and of course the original program that started it all for me and one which I feel is still the best bargain out there for its comprehensive and easily absorbed information: The Insider Secrets course originally by Corey Rudl and continued today by Derek Gehl. (Note that I recommend Insider Secrets for beginner to intermediate folks–seasoned folks will have already gotten it long ago, I’m sure . . .)

Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts about any of this–who do YOU listen to? Who makes an impression on you in this crazy, carnival-like atmosphere of internet marketing madness? If this is indeed, the Attention Age, as Rich Schefren calls it, to whom do you give your attention?

I welcome your feedback about your experiences . . .

Just Released, Easily Installed WordPress Plug-In Every Blog Owner MUST Have

Web Hosting, WordPress Plugins No Comments »

In my last post I mentioned the importance of having hosting that never fails you. I also mentioned that even though you may have set yourself up with fantastic hosting, even with one of my recommended hosting companies (Liquid Web for ultimate dedicated and premier shared hosting, and Hostican for lower-priced and huge storage, but still very reliable shared hosting) you still might have your WordPress blog die a sudden death when all those curious Diggers, or Stumblers hit your page because you didn’t know how to prepare for that kind of traffic.

And finally I mentioned a great resource for prepping your blog for massive traffic. There’s nothing that sucks more than finally getting everyone to come see what you’re on about and having the door suddenly slam in their face. Ouch!

Only thing is, that resource I mentioned is pretty technically challenging for all but the more geeky of us and so I was still looking for something a little easier to use.

So imagine how thrilled I was to discover this fantastic plug-in that caches your WordPress blog for you and speeds it up dramatically when heavy traffic comes to call . . . Great! Yes, there may be a little bit of configuring to do, but usually all you have to do is upload and activate.

I’m referring to the marvelous WP Super Cache created by Donncha O Caoimh. If you haven’t installed it yet, what are you waiting for! :)

Check it out here: http://ocaoimh.ie/wp-super-cache/

All the best,

-Zack

PS- in case you’re wondering, yes indeed, I’m experimenting with a couple different themes right now and working on a custom one. Don’t wig out though when the appearance changes around a bit. This is an experimental blog where I test all these crazy new ideas and software tools and report back to you on it–so expect lots of change! More about that later . . .
